We went to the park yesterday... I didn't get picture of every species we saw but the majority...
Crow... they never get very close.... The crow was taken with the A-400 and 1.4 TC. There's actually a second crow up there if you look.
All the other taken with the DA* 60-250 and HD DA 1.4 TC
The Blue Jays have pretty much taken over the park this year, they always come with numbers.
There is simply no bird as dependable as Chickadees...
And the Grey Jays, once you know where to find them are pretty dependable as well.
There's a huge rough grouse over at the feeder at the Algonquin Park Visitors' Centre, looks like he's been pigging out on bird feed for quite a while. If he wanders down this way he'll make a great dinner for someone although why he'd go far from that seed.....if he gets eaten it will probably be within a hundred meters of the feeding station. At that size i wonder if he can even fly. They can survive on spruce needles. Black Oil Sunflower seeds must be a luxury. Over the years the grouse have evolved to blend in with the black oil sunflower seed hulls.
Seen but not photographed... Evening Grosbeaks, Purple FInches, Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers
