Another pic with a classic adaptall.
Great shot of the Lapwing, marcusBMG. I have never seen one in close-up before.

Thanks Mike. I was pleased with the pic because, as a 100% crop, it shows what the 31A can do. The lapwings are regulars at the RSPB reserve, quite often to be seen with the Canada Geese.

But I'll try to do better as I work more in LR with RAW.... just a bit of a learning curve...

Lovely shots Ken,Chatmechant,Travis,Marcus,Derek,Greyser and Ittoo.

A friend of mine who has a Canon 7D has just bought a Sigma 500mm f4.5 EX DG and was not impressed with the sharpness so I helped him set the lens up using a focus chart.

After I had set his up I tried mine and have now put +6 on my 500mm.

Here are a couple of results

And this shot was with no lens adjustment

Thanks guys, yeah that hawk's flying skills weren't impeded in the slightest from what I could tell. He seemed more than a little angry, though. Since I've gotten that DA*300 and tryin' to keep up with the likes of you all.... man... it takes skill, patience, some kind of sixth sense and... I don't know. Damn fun, though.

Thanks for the likes and encouragement guys (I wander into this thread with a certain trepidation you guys are too good). To continue the adaptall theme: these two with the vaunted 60B, 300mm 2.8.

Just keeping an eye. ... on the kids.

Some phenominal shots here guys.

As Albert said its nice to see birds I've never seen or in many cases even heard of.

Nothing but sparrows and finches to shoot in my part of the world at the moment.

Some BIF from yesterday (K-3 & FA* 250-600mm f5.6)

Canada Gooses that leave their daytime resting area and go have a lunch in the nearby corn's fields before dusk... at dusk, they then go sleeping on the big river...

An intruder here that passed very quickly inside my lense range... I was able to nail it pretty good !
