Maybe I'm showing my age, but mom's pretty good-looking, too. :~)

Life is hard. Super shot!

Thanks Griz! John how close where you, great shot! There are a few others on here that have gotten close eagle shots. There are a lot of BE around here, the National Eagle Center is close to my house. My gf will not even stop for me to take pictures of them and says Eagle Smeagle, not going to stop for something that eats road kill LOL. I've only been able to get within ~30 feet of them at best before they flush.
Closer shot than I've ever managed of a wild eagle! Cool!

Very cute! I wonder if that species creches? Some Australian species do.

Beautiful close-up! Wish I had more variety of furry animals to photograph - kangaroos get a bit boring after a while.

Nice shots, Gary - I didn't know that the USAF was still operating the C5. I thought that they had pretty much been replaced by the C17.

Nice shot Derek They really are cute little guys. Funny you should post this tonite, I was just out trying to get some shots of a new litter, Mom was there but the little ones were not to be seen. Did you post a squirrel for Rupert?

Finally, tried my A* 600, acquired year ago. Few shots.

1. Handheld. Wide open. Crop of 2/3 image.

2. Sunset.

I was surprised, that it is possible to see the sun crown! 100% crop (rotated):

Nice Shots Alexander , A* 600mm Great lens as is all the A* lenses , Very light focus ring . and not to heavy , I would be a bit worried to point my camera straight into the sun like that

'Beating the Retreat' is an ancient British Military Tradition -- last night I went to London, Horse Guards to see the Royal Marines do it and they had a 'Guest Band; from USA-- well, the Yanks did 'Quite Well' ( I'm BIASED -- ex- British Army !! ) I used my K10D + 400mm f5.5 SMC Pentax-A and tried 'RAW', processed in FastStone Image Viewer -- I couldn't see any difference from my usual JPegs !

This nesting has came to the last stage - feeding the chicks, glad I'm still able to shoot this after my 5 days Thailand birding trip.
The adult Coppersmith Barbet after feeding the young one is about to fly off from the hanging pose.

I had to use liveview, that is very handy in this case and can not harm eyes. Realized, why medium format cameras have different focusing options.

A few more from Niagara falls, just House Sparrows, but we don't get them up where we lives, so for us quite exotic.

K-3 and A-400
ISO 800, Shutter speed 1/800, ƒ8 (lots of 8s I know)

Great work as usual, guys. Sorry for being a little absent, things are a little hectic atm.

Finally sorted and developed the Black Tern-session of last weekend, I went back sunday and took a fellow pentaxian with me. He was really kind and let me test his K-3.
The last 2 are with the borrowed K-3 and I have to admit...24MP and 8fps is nice to have
