Spectacular! I see a lot of different species at the moment, but DIF shots aren't the easiest, to put it mildly.

Encountered this critter yesterday (Grass snake, Natrix natrix). The grass blades and shade were unfortunate, but then, being able to take a shot without the snake darting off was a nice change to the usual "at least I got the tip of the tail in the frame". DA*300 withOUT converter, for once.

Sure did. Good thing, I was actually seriously considering it. Went for coffee and it was gone. Close call, for me.

Great shooting ,Gary! I've never had any success with that.

I'm experimenting with the Tamron 1.4x TC on the F*600/4--so far so good:

Da55-300 wr

The HD DA55-300 WR has proven to be excellent in combination with the K-30, not least excellent for BIF (Birds In Flight). Seen various explanations to this, but that camera has the same processor as the K-01 (quite a step up from the processor in a K-5), and seems to react faster than even the K-3 (I have no proof of this!).

I agree - that's pretty impressive detail - especially when seen in full size. Congratulation !!

Here is my take on the subject, 10th of Sept. 2014 UK, London. I was fortunate to have a clear sky yesterday
My latest addition to line-up, Vivitar TX 400 5.6 + Pentax-A x2 converter. - slightly cropped. I think this lens did well - despite being something like 30+ years old it really surprised me a lot yesterday.

Great stuff Dave.

You have the neatest toys to play with.

Looking forward to more from this rig.
