Great shots, Greyser!. I particularly am impressed by the grebe. Great timing!
Thank you. However, there is no grebe here. Most likely you are talking about Kingfisher shots (?)

The GBH are starting to pair up on the nests here at Whittier Narrows. Too high up to see if there are any eggs yet.
Won't know until the little ones start squawking.

This stand of trees is where the cormorants also nest but they start a little later.
I really like seeing breeding herons, Larry. Thank you.

A good weekend. After three years of searching, my children and I found the nesting site of owls we've been spotting for years. One of the parents is known to us since it was an owlet (has a blown left pupil, not pictured). Hopefully we will have some owlets to follow all spring and summer.

Very dark conditions, wide open with no crop. Impossible to maneuver around the branches and pine needles. K3 560

Nice shot. last spring I was watching a family like this. The nest was in quite crowded area next to the parking lot. Three Owlets hatched out and grew up in front of hundreds of curious people. Then I lost them. Hopefully they will come back soon.

The Hawfinch came a bit closer this morning, same set up as before.
Here are a couple of facts.
The mandibles and their muscles are so powerful they can crush cherry stones by applying a force of over 500 kN, which is equivalent to about 60 tonnes for a human, so that they can eat the cherry seed, of which they are particularly fond

Another fine set of photos, Gary. And completely off topic, I have an acquaintance who has a garage full of fully functional Ducati motorcycles.

I'm very impressed! Magnificent shots with wonderful detail! Bravo! A gorgeous bird. Thanks for the education on the bird itself.
