I'm still trying to catch a pair of Redpolls that come to feeders in the garden ,before they get on the feeders[ easier said than done]
I did manage to catch a couple of other birds. K-5/Sigma 300mm f2.8 EX DG/Kirk window mount

I take a week off and you guys just keep upping the ante!

I can confirm that Trinidad has a lot more photogenic birds than Ontario at this time of year. My favourite was the Tufted Coquette, just two and three quarter inches long (the world's smallest bird, the Bee Hummingbird, is two and a half).

The autofocus on my 300mm DA* stopped functioning for a while, so this was taken with the 55-300 DA.

Love the Wren. Around here they tend to hide under logs.

Cheers

Very nice. To have one land close like that is special.

I've never encountered one (yet)

Now that's super luck--and you certainly took full advantage of the opportunity.
Thanks guys, I'm really lucky.
btw I got the id of the owl wrong, it should be Buffy Fish Owl.

Sorry to hear you live in a low-wrenned district. ;-)

Here's one from last spring - alas, not sharp enough on the head, but I like the motion blur and droplets caught in the air. I think this was when the AF was broken on my Sigma and I was using manual focus with CIF.

I think the main thing is to be aware of movement.

I don't do much pp

very nice set, Ducatigaz!

What was the approx. distance between you and the birds? I guess you were pretty close?
