From December 18th

Captured with FA* 250-600/5.6 + 1.4X-L teleconverter, for a focal length 840mm. Was testing the newly acquired teleconverter, very pleased so far!

Part of my Friday commute, multiple shots stitched together in LR6, taken with an older Vivitar 400mm f6.3 m42 lens.

And of course some little birds that brave the entire Alaskan winter were hanging out in the front yard when I was out with my DA*50-135, but disappeared when I returned with my 400mm Vivitar f6.3 maybe 5 mins later. Oh well, got pics of the dog again anyway.

I think that Vivitar is the same as Spritone's 400mm f6.3, a lens well thought of when new - cheap, very light, and with better IQ than you'd think considering that bargain price.

I was running around with the 1000mm Mirror lens and the TAIR-3

The Mirror is okay in close, but if you're not filling the frame with a bird, you basically just get bad Fringing as the lens just fails. :C

The Tair is a bit short at times.

But, still

These are just the K-50 images. I don't think the Q turned out as well, I'll let you know in a while.

I found it and a f5.6 version in a local pawn shop and much preferred the 6.3 due to the lighter weight, better handling, and better IQ. Selling off the 5.6 made this lens free.

BTW, can any of the birders here ID the bird I posted? I'm just learning myself.
