Hmm, K-1, Sigma 150-500 Bigmos @ 500mm + Kenko 1.5x TC, 1/1000 @ f/16, ISO 25600. I made a 8 1/2 x 11 print on matte paper that the local store owner (new Pentax Pro dealer) was stunned by.

Encouraging. Could you share your initial feelings about autofocus with the K1 - AF.C and tracking functionality? Thanks.

Last weekend outing with the K3 and Bigma. All at 500mm ISO1200-1600 handheld.

Why f/16? You'd be able to shoot lower ISO and/or high shutter speed by using f/8 - f/11, and also suffer from less diffraction.

Thanks very much for your question and suggestion.

When capturing images of birds with a handheld camera, I sometimes capture unwated blur because I chose too slow a shutter speed.

I often get good results with my K-x and K-S2 at 1600 ISO, although I shoot some successful images of perched birds at ISO800.

I am pleased with the relative sharpness of the bird in this image.
