I took the F*600/4 rig up to Conowingo last week.

Got Eagles

& Herons

This one coulda been sooo good--if I'd nailed the focus (which I didn't )

Nice shots Dave - were the eagles there in good numbers or just a few locals.

Was out at a park I have never been with the Bigma. Not much going other than the mosquitoes, but did catch these two Goldfinches.

All are heavy crops at 500mm.

It was just a few locals--the action was slow (but I didn't have to worry about my hands & feet going numb )

Have not seen too much this summer, most of my spots are empty. Going to have to try some new spots it seems. Did manage to get this Kingfisher from the driver's seat. I've learned to get a few shots off before getting out of the car if I can. As usual once I opened the door and got out, gone.

Bigma and K3, very windy conditions.

Elm Sawfly and Meadowhawk, with K-3 and DA*300mm

When I first saw the Sawfly I thought it was a robber fly, but this guy only eats plant material.

Both very nice shots, I especially like the first shot of the fly with the black head.

Thanks Bob - I took a few shots of this with my macro as well but the DA*300 seemed to have better depth of field, in this case anyway.

Here are some loon pics from the same trip up north - just here in Toronto overnight before heading up there again for a few more days.
