The first image is very pleasing. I would clone out the stick that intrudes along the bottom.
Good idea. It should looks better now :-)

Yup. I like that better. My eye was drawn to the stick periodically but It wasn't a significant contributing element in the original image. Want more suggestions for this image (which I like)?

OK: Three small improvements (IMHO) 1) the floating feather in the background is not part of the "story" of the image, I would clone it out; 2) I think you have a sensor stain showing as a faint dark spot above the bird on the left; 3) I would crop down to about the level of that feather. and in from the right up to the submerged branch which I would keep as a subtle framer along the right (don't crop far enough to touch the branch - leave a little sliver to the right of it.).

Nice pictures. I love the last picture of Flamingo on the bottom leaning over the wave.

Black headed grosbeak

Do you suppose there is a reason these birds are called "Grosbeaks". Don't think I'll win
any prize for a pretty picture here.

If I can add my 2 cents, next time, try to be on a lower level ... at the water level as much as possible...

I got out to the lake yesterday morning another harsh summer day here at the lake in Central Texas. All shots DA* 300mm DA 1.4 TC handheld. I also had the DA* 60-250 with me but it was having AF issues on the K5IIs unusually I had no keepers Hopefully there is just a problem with the contacts ?

I took these Steller's Jay pics in April-2016. Jays were munching on the suet.
Pics were taken with K-50 and Pentax SMC 500mm f/4.5. Shots are very little cropped. I haven't see them for a while since I am not putting out any suet.
Why these birds don't come just for a little visit. Take some pictures of them, and then they can fly away. Why we have to bribe them with the food
