The previous picture of Conowingo shows the small lower platform area. Above the platform, and running for considerable distance, is an elevated roadway, running parallel to the river. There are about 20 feet from the road to a fence. I estimate the distance as between a half and three quarters of a mile. On a weekend during peak eagle season (November and December) the picture below, somewhat exaggerated by perspective, is what the fence looks like. I was there twice this season on weekdays and there was nobody withing 20 to 30 feet of me. I also climb down the riverbed to sit level with the river. There are days when people claim there are several hundred eagles there. I have not seen that many but I have been there when there is a lot of "fishing" activity if the dam releases a lot of water.
Was there also a sign there that said "All camo lenses in the center, black lenses to one side and white lenses to the other"?

Yeah. Your window mount would be no good there!
You would have to stand out in the hot/cold/wet/dry weather, instead of sitting in the comfort of your car.
Nah, I think I could squeeze the car down there ,might end up crashing into a few Nikon and Canon users though

A few Red Kite from the car K-5/FA*600mmF4ED[IF]/Eckla window mount, very tricky trying to follow birds in flight from the seat of a car.

Square-tailed Drongo-cuckoo feeding at the local park. Back log and taken with my lovely KS1 + Sigma 150-500mm.

Congratulations! No surprise. You consistently set benchmarks for excellence with your bird images. I think that all of us on PF are both impressed and inspired, and really pleased for the recognition you've received.

Well, it's always hard to follow one of Ken's wonderful images, but here's an unexpected outcome of a stroll on the Toronto waterfront this morning - our first Snowy Owl of the year, and as a bonus it had its eyes fully open. Also with Lake Ontario behind it had a relatively "clean" background which I know will appeal to Ken.

Another fantastic bird and photograph Ken. What keeps me going is knowing that I have the same lens and maybe some day I'll get a shot half as good as this!

What a beautiful, if somewhat intimidating bird.
