A couple from my travels today. A Great Horned owl and a hawk, possibly rough legged or broadwinged.
That black belly makes it a Rough-leg (female or immature). Broad-wings are in South America at this time of year.

That plumage may fall within the normal range of variation in 3-year old (immature) Bald Eagles, rather than being leucistic.

Like this shot a bunch. Some birders would pass up the opportunity because the bird's body is obstructed, but I think it's a cool and unique photo.

I thought so as well, but there have been several ornithologists who have agreed that this is a leucistic baldie. A friend has photo's of it from last year and it seems it's plumage lightens with age. Can't wait to see what she (?) looks like at 5 years old!

wow~how/where did you get this shot?
It was photographed in a farmers field, I had first spotted the den around 600m from the road and after talking with the landowner I photographed the pups the next day

Sunda Pygmy Woodpecker, a very small sized woodpecker, length about 11-12cm, was lucky to shoot this hyper-active bird quite close.

Shot with K5-IIs + Sigma 500 F4.5

Wow!
This post does not do your photo justice!
Zoomed in, I'm amazed at how sharp you got the GBH!

Was this shot form a gimbal? The panoramic is seamless.

Well done!!

Interesting. Sounds like progressive greying, rather than leucism.

I've always found woodpeckers tough because of the movement. This is lovely.
