Handsome bird. There is quite a diversity of pheasants in Asia, many of them really beautiful. I especially like the last image with the blurred flapping wings.
Yes Walt agree with you. I will share more when I have a chance to shoot more next time.

Some more birds at the feeder with the sigma 500mm f7.2, samsung NX20.

This image showed some more significant CA - purpling seeping into the head and neck of the tit. Ameliorated with fringing tools and reducing purple luminence and saturation in LR3.

1:1 pixel peeping crop of a mallards head. At 800ASA the NX20 is much noisier than the K5, but the underrlying resolution is quite good.

These nuthatches however were with a tamron adaptall 55BB 500mm mirror. Also NX20. i am inclined to give the advantage, at least in resolution, to the sigma.

A bunch from today. Weather has been warm but too much snow still for the hawks to show up in numbers. But a successful day; a fisher, Great Horned Owl, Pygmy Owl, otter, Downy wood pecker, Grosbeak. K-1 Sigma 500 f4.5

Yes. I think the mammal is a mink. Any confirmation?

We will be back in a month or so when the snow melts to see the roughed legged hawks in number.

The little guy standing on the ice looks like a mink to me, and of course an otter further down.

Thanks. The fisher doesn't live in the water like these guys do. It dove under the ice and we didn't see it again.

It was cute whatever it is.

The first weasel looks like a mink. The head poking out of the water looks like an Otter. Are they the same animal?

No, different location. The otter was obvious, I had never seen a mink before. It was the beginning of a very nice day.

@derekkite - wonderful shots. Yes, the first weasel is definitely a mink, as other have said. Minks have more slender, pointier heads than otters. The white on his jaw and chest is interesting - I wonder if he's an escapee or former pet.
