Last light of the day with a Godwit calling out near nature reserve the Blaugerzen. Cropped from a photo taken with a K-3 and the DFA150-450mm.

Striking bird. Nicely captured.

---------- Post added 04-09-17 at 09:29 PM ----------

Saw a bunch of birds congregating on a tree on the front yard of my backyard neighbour so I headed over with my K-3 and FA 300/4.5 combo to see what they were. They turned out to be Bohemian Waxings.
They were feasting on cherries.

Sharing two of the Fantails that I managed to shot in Yunnan. The Yellow-bellied fantail (size about 8cm) and White-throated fantail (size of 19cm).

Did you know: The first British postmen wore red coats, and gained the nickname of robin or redbreast
This is also how the Robin became associated with Christmas Cards, as people awaited the arrival of the 'Robin', or Postman, with their cards.

Mr. Ken, GREAT shots as usual! I would enjoy seeing the EXIF data for images (at least ISO, f stop and shutter speed) to learn a bit of your technique. Always great stuff (or at least you only post the great ones)!
Regards,
Thanks BD, those images are from facebook hence no EXIF info, these pics can also be found at my flickr page which consists full exif info:

Lovely clarity

peregrine taken with my K-5/FA*600mmF4ED[IF] on a Gitzo 1348 tripod.

Very tricky trying to follow this bird with the massive FA*600mm

And this one taken standing on the edge of a cliff with a 400ft drop

I discovered a Yellow Crowned Night Heron in my dead oak yesterday around sunset and went into a frenzy. The F* 600/4 was set up on the tripod with a K-3 so I took some shots immediately but ISO levels were high so I worried about the noise and switched to the K-1 (but forgot to turn the SR off) and, with the light waning, broke out the AF 540 flash with Better Beamer. Here's what I got:

Now, you may ask (as I did) "What's a YNCH doing in a tree 250 feet above the stream?" My guess is that s/he had just arrived from the South and was looking for the perennial nesting colony on the trib about a mile away. FWIW, it didn't spend the night.
