Beavais Lake Provincial Park in South Western Alberta, an easy 2 hour drive from home. Some very good hiking trails, and a great overview as well.

The Osprey no longer nest here. According to locals, the osprey were driven off by a pair of eagles and the nest destroyed. I miss them. The nest was in a boat ramp parking lot about 10 feet below the road. Sitting on the verge of the road farthest side from the nest. enjoying a lovely day and my refreshments.

Shows what a lowly K10D and M 400/5.6 can do with a good tripod, a good position, a nice camping chair and liquid refreshment while waiting for action. Image cropped from 3872x2592 to 2662x2312 to remove extraneous sky.

I use a K20D, almost same camera but slightly bigger resolution. A big heavy well sealed instrument.

more of a series of photos taken of the trumpeter swan pair at the Topeka Zoological Park.

[These have been surgically altered, "pinioned" when young, allowing them short flight ability only, they are the only captive birds at the ponds, all other are wild visitors.
They are a mated pair and have produced offspring in the past ]

the disturbed water in the background are from an unseen floating fountain/pump

The Black and White presentation makes sense to me with these white and black swans as the subjects

Here's a very wet Robin - the blue bowl was almost full when he splashed down - after almost 5 minutes he took off and landed on the nearby fence to dry off.

Taken with my K-3 and Sigma 150-500 HSM at 500mm - through double pane windows.
