Cooper's Hawk

While I was driving on a quiet neighbourhood, I caught this bird flying by and landed on a tree trunk behind some bare branches. It had a bird in its grasp which is not visible from this picture. But you can see a couple of down feather on its beak if you look closely. Taken with FA 300/4.5 with 1.4X HD TC.

This is a deep crop from a Bigma image taken @ 500mm, and the IQ is marginally acceptable. Black-bellied whistling duck.

Anhinga that seems to be enjoying getting dry in the sun. His feathers look more like the grizzled hair on an aging dog.

It's been a while since I took out K-5iis with DA*300 and Pentax TC. The good thing I don't need to think how much frame should I crop with K-1 due to vignetting. And yes, K5iis is lighter, it feels.
As for focusing, I miss the focus about the same when shooting BIF.

Four Females in the back yard now and the lone Male has not been seen in day's, perhaps He is "resting" before the Activities begin?

Anyway.....got lucky on a couple approach shots to the Feeder. K-3ii and D FA 150-450.
