Nothing like a Scarlet Tanager to brighten up a cloudy day

One of the star bird in my early trip, the Scarlet finch, a small passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae. It is found in the Himalayas from central Nepal eastwards to Vietnam and is found spottily in the adjacent hills of Northeast India and Southeast Asia as far south as Thailand. It is resident in the Himalayas, but many birds winter to the immediate south.

I was lucky to be able to get both of the male and the female shot in March.

The osprey shots are super. So is the flicker. I thought it is some kind of woodpecker, at first.
Which lens is this from? Thanks

Thanks for the compliment.
They were all taken with Sigma 500/4.5.

That first osprey seems to be having a bad hair day! Great shots all of them

Thank you. It was a windy day.

Nice owl shots. Owls often use the same nest site for several years so they might not be a once in a lifetime chance. (but keep shooting anyway.)
Yes,
That is what I read. I'm hoping. If I had not thought a bird was crapping on my head I would probably have never known they were there. Lol.

Least Sandpiper

Image of a Least Sandpiper taken two days ago. They are so tiny that when they are standing still, they blend in very well with the background making them difficult to spot until they are spooked and fly off.

From an outing earlier this week on Little Assawoman Bay in DE. The Osprey seem to shuttling back and forth building a nest and also fishing. The Osprey will not fish in the bay which is 'enriched' by waste from subdivisions and farms since a hurricane years cut off a major inlet to the Bay. The Osprey fly out to the ocean to fish. The small Porta-Bote w/trolling motor was bobbing up and down so at 600mm it is hard to keep the bird on frame - fairly significant crop.
This one seemed to be calling to its mate - then spotted me and flew off.

I agree, and particularly like the little yellow throated singer. Great shot.
