Some shots from today

Eastern Kingbird - nice to see them back

Song Sparrow

It's Whimbrel time again - they're skittish but this is a better shot than I was able to get last year.

I'm well aware of the agony of that choice.
this pond is an old river oxbow

the biggest carp I've taken out of it was 27 pounds (actually scaled and on a fly)
the carp I saw this morning were pushing that...yielding second thoughts

so if the weather is ok in the morning I think i'll reverse my priorities

Please ID this bird for me

This bird (?) was very busy at our feeder today. I can't find him in any of my bird books. Can you folks ID him?

The only reason I would encourage them is to provide snacks for passing Goshawks.

Squabbling Black Headed GrosBeaks

We had two males after the seeds in the feeder that were left over from the tree-rat raid. One of them didn't want to share. He sure looks smug in the last of the three shots.

European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

Summer in England, warm sunny, ideal for local wild rabbits.

Gorgeous image! You even caught a bit of a spider's filament!
