Bears and flowers

We're headed back to Yukon later this month and I couldn't help browsing pics from our 2012 trip there to get myself in the right state of mind. These were both taken from the car with my old K-r and DA 55-300mm lens.

"Black" bear (this one brown, I know!) with Lupines
Nice shot. Many people expect blacks to be black - although in British Columbia we even have white ones: the Kermode.

You can send him/her to visit my neighbors. Can't see the grass for the pretty yellow flowers. the Lawn Doctor just went past for the first trip today to keep mine under control.

Juvenile Neotropic Cormorant? I question if it's a juvenile because I don't recall ever seeing one with such light color.

Carolina Locust

Black Vulture

A pair of Shovelers.

All with K3 and DA*300.

here is a couple of views of a Douglas squirrel.
the first is a k1- fa*300 -----uncropped. --near minimum focal distance.
Hand held --- 1/800 sec at f/5.6 ---- using ISO 12500

this one with a little less camera HP is taken with a K3 using a 60-250 at 250.

A willet from a morning walk at Gordon Pond, Rehoboth DE - not the best light - sometimes you got to take what you can get.

Oh.

Ewww. . . . .

Move to the country, eh?

Grass you won't mind laying out on in the sun.

No chem lawn either, domestic water comes from a well, about 6.5 meters deep. Best water in the world. Makes great 'beverages'.
