So, y'all don't have indoor plumbing up there in the Great White North?
It's for guests. We have a cabin out the back, where family and clients stay from time to time, but they have to use the indoor plumbing in the house. This will keep them outdoors having the wilderness experience they come up for,

do you have a store of old Sears catalogs for their use or do they have to bring their own

" . . . An old Sears Catalog was the only toilet paper ever used in our privy. For many years I believed that toilet paper everywhere was last years Sears Catalog. Our Dad told us it had to last until the new catalog arrived . . . "

Arctic Ground Squirrels live in underground colonies. They're hyperactive and skittish, but if you sit on the ground and wait things can get interesting after a while.

Black headed grosbeak couple

In the back yard, a few hours apart, we were visited by a black headed grosbeak couple. Momma arrived in sunshine, poppa was just a few minutes ago after sunset. Both pix were severely cropped and taken through a double pane glass door with pollen on it. (The ponderosa pines are shedding). I'm really pleased with the results from this combo, considering the cost and results. Both are jpegs out of the camera, minor exposure adjustments and crop only.

First morning after purchasing a decidedly used DA L 55-300mm, a scruffy looking Robin decided to pose for me. Think I am going to like this lens!

I upgraded from the L version to get Quick Shift, but other than that I had no qualms about using the L version.

I saw my first Ruby-throated Hummingbird on my trip to Quebec! The birds on the east coast are very, very different from the west coast. Very different (and striking) colours, songs and how much more bold they are around people!

Manual focus w/the K1 and Sigma 500mm

Awesome

Orange Bellied Parrot, which some experts talk of as being functionally extinct, since there are perhaps only four breeding-age females left in the wild. K-1, FA*300 f4.5:

Double-Barred Finch

A very common Double-Barred Finch, but a first for me. Heavily cropped.
