An Osprey family on Little Assawoman Bay. Three chicks. One looks like it may not live (in front of the mother's feet), it didn't move much and has its eyes shut. The other two are clamoring for attention and food. The male could care less.
This is a sequence of the female feeding the chicks.

Merlins

Merlin in the neighborhood. I believe this the dad perched on a pine tree. The babies have fledged. The three of them were fighting for food on my neighbor's roof this morning. I will see if I can get better shots tomorrow.

Look both ways before crossing
Bobbing up and down in kayak made AF impossible with the grass in the way of two young sea gull chicks.
Had to go old school with manual focus
First the image posted earlier of the parents protecting the nest that was taken a couple of weeks earlier at the same site
The grown gulls dive bombed me while I photographed their chicks
.

Great shots. I agree that the first one is a charm.

Yup, he really know his stuff and I'm lucky to have that kind of service available locally--for one thing, shipping that bad boy is a major project and expensive!
