3 G = $3,000 ?

that is a little much for the DFA 150 - 450 isn't it???

( or is that the conversion of the Canadian $ to the US $ ??? )

current prices appears to be just shy of 2 G = $2,000

still not chump change

I hope if you decide to get one you can find an experienced one in very good condition as I did for a lower price
$3000 Canadian is $2400 US, so that is full retail. Current price on Amazon is $1997 US, $2584 Canadian ($2075 US, so slightly higher).

Given that it's currently £1995 in the UK, that's a good deal. I was lucky to get mine on a promotion day and got £500 off by combining a store offer and a Pentax promotion. This was when it was £1700. I'm guessing I'll never lose money on it.

By the time you add in 13% taxes a case and filter you're very close to 3k CAD.

Which brings us to another point. Why are the cases that come with Pentax camera so useless. No belt loops, no attachment points? I actually have a Nikon case for my 60-250 with the 1.4 attached.

I love lens cases.

The only thing wrong with this image is I can only see 4 lens cases, a few more would have been better.

OK that and that I look fat... but I digress...

The 150 - 450 case I got with mine came with a strap, the Mrs pinched the case for her Nikon 200 500...

Norm, you look awesome, weighed down, but awesome...

Thanks for the brick's inclusion. You need some of the dogs with you for subject flushing. This will be on the refrigerator this evening.

At least it was just the case... I've lost lenses and cameras to my Mrs.

Norm, you look like you are going off to war.

I'll have to refer my wife to this image next time she complains about me lugging too much gear around.
Let me know i f she thinks I'm a stud. I keep track of those kinds of things.

I try and avoid back packs. They make it really hard to change lenses on the fly.

Hopefully no young children will be frightened by this questionable maneuver. And I've sold the brick. It went towards the purchase price of the K-1, but I certainly miss it.

Red Tailed Hawk Juvenile

I happened upon a newly fledged Red Tailed Hawk today. When I spotted it, sitting about 10 feet away was an adult. The adult was gone before I could grab my camera but the juvenile sat for a minute before taking off and I was able to get a shot. I could see it had something in its claws and when I got to my computer I realized it was another poor thirteen lined ground squirrel ( I got photos of a Swainson dining on one last year). Both the adult and the juvenile flew up into a tree and joined a third hawk there. A few hundred yards further up the road I came upon another juvenile sitting in a tree and was able to get a shot of him as well. Sig 500/4.5

Ahh, this is why I use Pentax, she's a Nikonite

As for backpacks... The wife has a Lowerpro that you can move around and open while it's still on your body, so changing lenses is easier.
