Great shot Terry.

I haven't been able to get close enough to a male this season but here's a little lady.

K3, Bigma, cropped.

Another great shot, Ken. I really notice that you kept some detail in the black - that's impressive.

Tah.
She's nice.
I often have more luck getting close to the girls than the blokes, but it seems to be the reverse this year.
Here's another bloke, with the full sun really showing off the breeding plumage. K-1, 150-450+1.4xTC handheld, see exif for shot details.
Not sure how long it will be before we get cameras with the dynamic range for these blokes :-)

Cheers,
Terry

Compare the dynamic range to Kodachrome, Ektachrome or Fujichrome and you will find it is pretty good now.

I agree, but not up to what's required to capture the whole range that's in these codgers.

Cheers,
Terry

Haven't had time to go out lately but today the weather was very good on the cool side. So I took my camera and went out for a few hours.

American Bittern from the morning.

The White Crown Sparrow was hopping around so much, it was difficult to get a good shot. And the sun was setting too.

Thought I'd do a little something different today and go fishing. Caught four large carp.

A few more of the "Little Lady" taken last year (K3, Bigma). Sometimes you get lucky and they pose for you.
