Thanks, but now that I think upon it, the 16:9 crop version of that image works better. Also removing the Moire from the waters surface helps. This was shot during a sunset, hence the spectacular colours.

Great Horned Owl in residence. A regurgitated pellet found in the barn included a weasel's skull.

You can find pics of the whole barn here: Show me your barns. - Page 19 - PentaxForums.com

K-3, DA*300mm - without the TC due to poor light.

Nice work. This spring I caught this tree swallow at the Creston Valley Wildlife Centre, in British Columbia, one of our favorite places. K-3, M400/5.6,1.7xAFA,Tripod. Close up cropped from 6016x4000 to 1707x2560. These little guys are just as hard to catch as yours, and just as much joy when you do. Not as crisp as I would have liked, but he's identifiable and looks great on my phone Lock Screen.

Agree! Now, try to catch one in flight as it feeds on insects...

FYI: Original 420mm DNG converted to JPG and resized to 427x640...
Good catch. A little more difficult using an M400 with 1.7x on the back .... need too many hands to do focus and aiming and chasing and finding and .... I know I'm just making excuses.

Black-shouldered Kite attempting a landing.
It looks like the focus latched onto the shrubbery, but I'm still happy with it.
K-3 II, 150-450+1.4xTC handheld. See exif for shot details.

Cheers,
Terry

Maybe a hair OOF, or perhaps faintly softened by the bird's motion, it's nevertheless a great capture. I'd be very proud to call that image mine.

Gorgeous shots as usual. That lens is a real winner in your hands.
