A little downy and a big hairy that chased the little fellow away, but a squirrel cleaned up the bulk of the food.

FYI, this is my feeder anti-squirrel device. You can see most of it below the feeder in the pic I took when my daughter complained about not having enough snow earlier this morning. Pic taken with K-3 and 55-300 at 300mm. The biggest expense was the screw that holds it on. It's a bit tattered: the wind ripped the first attachment tab off a month or so ago ...

Pretty much the same cast of characters we get (no surprise as are locations are pretty close) - downy, hairy, sometimes a red-bellied woodpecker, blue jay, chickadee, titmouse; juncos mostly on the ground; cardinals, goldfinch in the Spring and also more rarely a rose-breasted grosbeak (males in breeding plumage are stunning), purple finches. About four decades back we got many evening grosbeaks in mid-winter, but there hasn't been one for many years; also back then we'd sometimes get pine siskins, also now absent for many years. Red squirrels come and go, as their local population runs a boom-bust cycle. And oh yes, bears, which means getting a new feeder and listening to admonitions about not attracting bears so don't fill another feeder please.

We have Evening Grosbeaks here all winter now. Must be Global warming.

From last winter.

That's fake news. We tended to get the largest number of evening grosbeaks during the worst winters. Pine siskins only appeared during really severe snow + cold. They were quite brassy, and would forage along the slider for the deck with their tails right up against the glass. Drove the big Persian cat we had back then totally bonkers as they would continue to forage quite oblivious to her attacking the other side of the glass.

Some days you get the bear, other days the bear gets you
Spent 2 1/2 hours driving to Conowingo to shoot the eagles
Stood in the fog all morning
