Just 'cause some of you will want to peek...my FA*600/4 is posted in the marketplace for some lucky buyer! It's rare enough to be worthy of posting in the big lens club thread, I think...just for general interest...

Yup, the super-narrow DOF is brutal! A mental hurdle I had with the 1.7x AFA is the fact that it "translated" the aperture value; my other TC's are not AF and don't do that.

A cardinal shot yesterday, as I practiced with my K-3 II + Adaptall 200-500/5.6 + Tamron 1.4x TC.

Defassa waterbuck. This make has a prominent ring of compressed hair at the base of his neck, and perhaps a fainter ring ahead of it.I wondered if he'd been fitted with a tracking collar at sometime.

Be careful you don't become reliant on guess work and never forget the film techniques as this system was built on top of the film system. You might be confusing different techniques for different types of photography eg this photo attached I use a totally different technique to the guys taking bird shots. I also see an over use in depth of field some photos require a story behind them such as landscape to tell more about the animal and some of these guys are amazing the way they get a photo together, there are some really exceptional photographers in here. I took over 100 shots this morning and only 3 wern't usable because I turned 90 degrees and shot 3 without checking my settings I could save the 3 but I haven't decided on that yet.

Yellow-tailed Black-cockatoo feeding on cypress. Doesn't pay to be underneath when they abandon the cone. K-S2 + DA-L 55-300.

A whole lot of seed cracking is going on around here.
300* f4, 1/1000, 1600 ISO, cropped

I dug out a Sigma MF 400mm f5.6 that I bought about 5 years ago, mainly to use on the original Q with adapter.
Been awhile since I've shot manual.
Looks like I'll keep it for playtime with the Q, or sell it.

A seeker of Suet. A/400 just before the K-5 shutter/battery depleted syndrome terminated operations. RIP K-5

Pierre has learned to climb over the plate. Rupert would have been amused -- not surprised, amused. Can anyone out there definitely tell me exactly what breed of squirrel Pierre is?

I have been reliably informed that Pierre is an American Red Squirrel. Thanks!
