Snowstorm here in NJ today. Only 5-6 inches of snow, but very windy, gusts up to 40 mph. The birds were out despite the rough conditions.

My new K-3 II + old friend A 400/5.6. Still learning this combo, and feeling optimistic...

A couple of the Rusty Blackbirds are still hanging around. I guess they like the food I'm putting out.
That first pic is a beauty! I think you're going to do very with the new combo! ;-)

K-3 and Tamron 300 2.8 with HD DA 1.4 TC

There are at least 50 American Goldfinches n the yard. Taken from the kitchen window of one of the three places they are hanging out.

Two of my little squirrel buddies.

high key American tree sparrow.

Female Purple Finch

If you are feeling ambitious locate the male Purple Finch in the above photo.

A couple more Osprey shots and a Red-shouldered Hawk from the Florida trip just before Christmas. The first one was with the K-3 and DA* 300mm, and the other two had the 1.4x TC added.

Great pics - I wouldn't expect to see Meadowlarks (eastern or western?) in the snow!

thank you - I was a bit surprised, too; normally, they are scarce until spring... I'm wondering if the late-fall temperatures convinced them to stick around too long...

The more I use the FA* 300, the more I love it. Sharp, compact... if only it were f2.8

At 2.8 you might need a truck to carry it around! Great shot.
