Originally posted by marcusBMG My shooting with the sigma apo 400mm meant that I was primed to notice examples of them in the listings. And surprise: a nice PKA example appeared up for auction as if on cue. It sat in my watch list and the bid rose steadily. Eventually went for a bit over £100 - a pretty fair price actually, but more than I wanted to pay (yeah I know call me scrooge - but hey, the plan is always for ££ to end up in the photographic kitty if resold).
I messaged the seller of a couple more examples (item # 162880247141 is one). They were the wrong mount anyway, but when I realised this was a reseller just trying to move them on - his other items were all BINS with pretty high prices - and he declined to respond when I asked why, are these hazed? well...
Then this one appeared in the listing. Is that a PKA mount? On careful scrutiny - yep: white plastic button is distinctive, plus oppposite rotation of the aperture ring to most other mounts, can just about make out the -A position. The seller could only say selling for his dad don't know nothing...
Anyway I won it and repeated a prompt to check the lens for haze (for which these sigmas are a bit notorious) with my payment. Fingers crossed...
I could be mistaken
but if anyone is interested in that lens or a similar one
they might want to look at the market place " buy/sell "
and I do mean now
BTW, I have no connection with the listed seller
