But how many shoot 26 frames with one, then stitch them together in a panorama?
Wow!
But...um...are you sure you meant to shoot that side of the hill?

Not sure what you mean Dave. The parking lot and viewing patio at the interpretive center are the only vantage points unless one wishes to go into the backcountry wilderness to the Southeast of the monument. And I think it is all private property there.

Crazy Horse monument..... nice.
I'd show you my pictures but I'd have to scan some film from old albums.

So rather than clog the bandwidth up with another gigapano created with many images from a 300mm lens, I'll post just one, even cropped a tiny bit.

Still not a bird though.

More like one of Otis' cousins.

From Greycliff, Montana.

It's an interesting view but I was thinking it would be possible to get a front-on view of the figure (but I'm not at all familiar with the site).

The group that is operating the site had buses taking tourists up close, but I had no desire to join the teeming masses. Besides, I probably would not have been able to get the bus driver to stop so I could fiddle around with camrea gear and making photographs.

Here is what the sculpture will ultimately look like:

So when I said I was going to be kind to the bandwidth?

I lied.

This one is smaller though. Only 5 images, with the Sigma 300 f2.8 again.

And I got another over in the panorama thread, shot with a 135mm f2.8 Sigma Pantel lens.

40 images.

I was there only once, years ago but to go further than the free welcome center you had to pay to be bused closer and to get other view points

Don't remember how close you would get or what angles

It was the major fundraiser or than straight donations

Since is is foggy, overcast and cold again I decided to try the AF360 FGZ with the 400 lens. Flash is remote mounted forward and to the right of the lens, set on high speed sync, using the 5p cable set up. I wasn't expecting to see the extra detail in the eye from the flash.....

I went searching for owls this weekend
K3ii and DFA 150-450, handheld at 450, 23 degrees out and howling wind

Northern saw-whet owl

And I'm cheating here at 290 mm, but failing light, handheld, 16 degrees and near frostbitten fingers... Not bad for ISO 5000!
Long-eared owl
