First my new toy arrived. Was listed merely as "russian telephoto lens". Just about LNIB. Very happy with price and condition, pretty much LNIB, I am
keeping this one, though I almost did some serious damage trying to get the M42 mount off.
So I took it along to the RSPB for some first pics. Turned out to be the morning when, instead of "Firecrest spotted" meant merely that s/o had seen one, momentarily, as a tease for everyone else, we had a gala performance all morning with two of 'em, flitting from bush to bush. And there I was, with definitively the slowest focussing lens in the arsenal: large, heavy, heavy and long 360° focus throw. Not that the Canonistas et al were doing much better, the birds typically in amongst the branches to throw every obstacle in the way of an AF focus hit. But everyone was keen, one chap had already chalked up a thousand pics - not difficult to do when your chalking em up da da da da da..... da da da dada da in burst mode.
To my surprise, I actually got some pics just about somewhat in focus. Well, proves the story true if nothing else..
Some more, all samsung NX20. typically f5.6.
Spot the snipe...
Lens kitty is is serious deficit.... anyone want to buy st..
