Lovely shots again, Luis.

Focus working OK with this combination? Reports seem to be mixed, at best.
Hi Des, the IQ is good (not much of degradation if in focus) on this combination, but the focusing is a little bit hunt even in a good light condition, if we are looking for more portability, IMHO it's a good combination

Tamron SP AF 300 2.8 LD [IF] with Pentax DA 1.4 TC (420mm ƒ4.)
400 ISO ƒ5.6 AV
From today.. out in the blind.

I took off the TC for this one. He was too close.

And some Red Crossbills from Algoqnuin Park.

Plus the Algonquin Park regulars....

You would almost think that Norm and I were standing shoulder to shoulder...;-)
I was using the K-r because my K3 was misbehaving. Also I used the DA*300mm without the TC because the light was poor.

Pine Marten - a wonderful animal and definitely not cute - especially if you are a vole.

Nice photos lately! I don't comment a lot, but always enjoy looking at them!
Did work a lot this week, and today I took a break and went out with my monster FA*250-600+HDTC+K-1

We are lucky to have a couple that nest in some islands near my home... but I did not knew their exact site until now.

And Today I was lucky to see them together...

Even if the HDTC is not FF, I had to crop a lot anyways (almost 1:1) and the resolution is still acceptable!

Pygargues à tête blanche / Bald Eagles [Haliaeetus leucocephalus]

This is how the original RAW file looked like:
(Approx distance:150m / 500 ft)

Got a nice sunset too ! Always a pleasure to be out, you never know what could happen!

The only images I took of you and Wendy at the log chute, both turned out to be double exposures... it was definitely a bad camera day. I didn't even know a digital camera could take a double exposure. I have 3 in my last 50 shots.

The repair shop couldn't find anything wrong with the K-3 and my own interval test of 200 shots confirmed that. They said they had never heard of the custom image setting spontaneously changing (happened 3 times from "bright" to "cross-processing"). The mirror flop happened when the battery was very low and it was quite cold (though not by normal Algonquin standards) - I have ordered some new batteries.
