This bird has a face even a mother might not love!
These guys are annoying. They eat the rubber off of cars.

Zzeitg; I've never seen such awesome photos of birds! Sure makes me envious of that 560! You really bring the best out of that lens!
Thanks for your kind words, Carol!
Concerning DA560, I had some doubts if I shouldn't have chosen Sigma 500 f/4.5 instead. But now I'm more less pacified

Didn't notice the water droplets on this Red Crossbill until I was ready to post image.

I'd say your photos are perfectly fine!
Peanut butter? Our birds are performing just for sunflower seeds

Screech Owl back in my Oak tree

Went out and checked my back yard Oak tree and saw my friendly Screech Owl back in the hollow from a limb being cut off 15 or so years ago. Glad to see it. I believe it is the male as the female is larger. Hopefully they will bring up another group of babies this year. All taken with K-3 and Pemtax FA* 300 mm f 4.5 lens

I know that feeling. I used to use a “cotton carrier” holster and had the bolt come loose. My Canon 7d and 70-200 rolled down the rocky hill. They made it out with only a few scratches, but I didn’t like it much...
