yes, I feel very lucky the only damage was to the outer edge of the safety filter and the hood

none at all to the lens or camera

They are cute, and curious. This little fellow came to see what I was doing, when I was putting my hide down, jumping around, from tree to tree.

muntjac deer.
Pentax K-3ii/FA*600mm F4 ED [IF]/Gitzo,trying to stalk Deer carrying a massive lens and tripod was tricky I can tell you.
I saw eight in a wood together , they were a couple of hundred yards away. I started stalk them and get closer but I spooked a Hare that I didn't spot, this then ran towards the Muntjac scattering them further into the woods, they were then very difficult to spot.
