Tawny Frogmouth, on what must be a favourite perch for these characters. I have almost identical shots from about a year ago.
The eye might appear to be shut, but you can bet that I am being closely observed!

K-3 II, DFA 150-450 + 1.4xTC, handheld. See exif for shot details.

From today, K3 DA*300 (no TC today).

A new raptor. Peregrine Falcon. In less than twenty seconds this bird did a circuit that would take me more than 30 minutes! 100% crop.
