Great work! Congrats! Especially the Mustang on the 3rd pic is superb photo.
Thanks - you're too kind. I was quite happy with that one myself...

Sorry, it has three wings so it's a Sopwith Triplane.
Doh! You're quite correct of course, brain fart on my part. Fixed in the original post...

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it, I believe they caused quite a bit of confusion in their day.

Really impressed by the pictures of the bittern. Not an easy bird to find out in the open, and the image quality is excellent.
This one was strange. It had no care in the world about how close you got to it or who was around it. There was another guy that layed down on the ground and inched his camera right up to it doing a very slow army crawl. The bird acted like he wasn't even there. At once point, a grackle bumped into the Bittern, and the Bittern didn't even budge.
The bird stayed in this ditch for a couple days and ate a lot of small crawfish.

That is curious. I've spotted bittern a few times out in the reedy grass at birding hot-spots in Florida, and once an American Bittern, male, came out right in front of my rental car as I was easing around a sanctuary in Oregon and started calling in that distinctive way. Don't expect I'll ever have such an opportunity again. I'll try to locate & post one of the images just for mild interest.

Here's a male Least Bittern that I got last year from the car. It's a very heavy crop, but was the first time I had found one. I knew if I got out of the car to get closer, it would run away.

...and one more of the female from my previous post.

.....and a female grackle that decided to eat right in front of me while I was squatted down looking for a different bird.

K3 / DA*300 Least Bittern

As promised - not threatened - the two good images I managed of a bittern while we were in Oregon. The lens would have a been a Sigma 50~500mm, original version. I'm sure both of these were posted on PF years ago.

Interesting to get that Bittern in display mode Walter.

The first I knew about the Red-winged Blackbird was when it flew up behind me and tried to take my hat off. Then it just perched in the nearest tree and glowered at me. Not as bad as the Australian magpies, but quite aggressive.

This catbird perched very close to me on the porch this morning and hung around while I went to get the K-3 & DA*300/4. This lack of concern about my presence is uncharacteristic of the species and leads me to think it was just fledged. No crop required--it was great to fill the frame with bird just this once.

I've tried a couple of times to snap dragonflies, usually at a pond up near the Sychnant Pass well known for being a bit of a dragonfly hotspot but with absolutely no success to mention. Then at the RSPB this one obligingly perched on a bramble right in front of me. I was well pleased...then infuriated when I got home and realised the whole time I had left the K5 set on 6MPx jpg's (ebay shots) - DUH! Still my best dragonfly pic tho'. 300mm f2.8 60B + 014F tc. f11 on the lens to get the DoF, iso 1600, 1/1000, monopod. click to see full sized.

A quick google didn't enlighten me as to the species.
Also got a couple of warblers...
