Maternal Instincts... glad I was in my truck...

I'm not sure who was more surprised to see the other, but man am I glad Pentax DNG's are flexible. It's always good to check that you're set on the mode you expect to be in and not start underexposing your shots by 3-4 stops... Next camera has to have a locking mode dial.

My first thought, on the first picture, was "that's a funny looking dog'. TOok a couple seconds to realize it's a moose! And yes, you don't want to get between a mother and her calves. Great photos

A hummingbird-moth in flight, K-3 and DA 55-300 PLM

And the rest of the day's activities.

From today around the yard, staring with Tess saying "there's a Hummingbird moth on the deck." They really seem to prefer purple flowers.

K-3 and DA*200 with HD DA 1.4 TC
400 ISO ƒ5.6 , AV

Some deck flowers

A weed we transplanted into the garden.

King squirrel,

Sorry about the tint, under the trees you get green light, it can be very hard to colour correct.

Love the moth shot. Haven't seen them for the longest time.

Ashy Tailorbird busy searching for nesting material. Started to use the Pentax HD DA 1.4x TC with my DA* 300mm f4. The exitf info correctly showing 420mm, recall that when I'm shooting with the Kenko Pz-AF 1.4x most of my pictures were only displying 300mm instead of 420mm.
