Here's a Momma Osprey with her young. One testing his wings but unable to fly yet.

Well shot Bob. How did you get high enough to basically be at the same level as the Ospreys?

Very nice -- sometimes you can get the shot you want.

I have a friend with waterfront property on the Magothy River near Annapolis Maryland. His property is elevated and he had the stand built. Part of having property on the water is the great views and part is the expense. He has a sea wall eroding and the cost to have large rocks piled up this winter will be $55,000 to $65,000.

Here's a shot of the Momma Osprey checking me out. I sat back and used a radio shutter once I set up but I definitely was spotted. The nest is deceptively deep, there are two large chicks bunkered down.

Nice shot - great location your friend has, although I'm not sure about the $55-65K upcoming expense!

My sister used to live on Harmony Ln - just off the Magothy River - she and her husband would kayak in the river/bay. Neat area!!

I have just taken my 'new' A*300 f2.8 out for a spin. Cross posted image below

The ease of use was amazing. Manual focusing was so easy. Who needs AF?

That's a really neat photo. Yes, it must be interesting to watch in person.
