Thanks all.

I got the angle because, I was on a fishing boat. The 560 was on a bean bag placed on the side and the birds will be seen on mudflats.

Any one want to do birding in Chennai (old name Madras), please do ping me. Would love to accompany you

BIF ???? Early morning

I got up this morning, and at about 8 am Mountain Daylight Time, there were a Stellers Jay and a Blue Jay squabbling over our feeder in the back yard, in the shade of a small forest of Pines (that green blur in the back) with our chain link fence showing nicely blurred.

The K-3 was set to my User Mode 2 (DA 55-300). TAv, 1/320@f/8, ISO Auto 100-6400, and the drive was Continuous High. All in camera corrections were off, SR on. Shot hand held between curtains through a double pane window. I applied the DA 55-300 profile in LightRoom after importing DNG. I added two stops so these are effectively at ISO 25400.

No cropping was performed (what would be the point?)

I don't think these are the world's best BIF shots. I was only one coffee away from staggering out of bed, and these birds can move.

All of you folks who complain about your BIF shots not turning out very well, take note.

I kind of like the first one with the squabble ...

Birds not in flight, early ho hum

Previous post was the "Interesting" treatments of BIF, these two are the best of the rest of the rather high number of shots. Hand held shooting through double paned window, User Mode 2: (DA 55-300, all in camera corrections turned off), Continuous High speed drive. TAv 1/320@f/8, hand held, ISO Auto 6400, added two stops = ISO 25400 equivalent. Imported DNG, LightRoom Profile for Pentax DA 55-300 applied.

I cannot complain about the quality the K-3 comes up with in this rather dim lighting. Sunrise was 7:00 am, and we are between two mountain ridges. The woods in the background are to the South of our home. It is very cloudy.
