Thank you all. I had those files that I dumped onto an HDD a few years ago because I needed to free SD cards for an upcoming event and I didnt have time to buy new SD cards or process the images, I had almost forgotten about those files. Today I selected the best ones (out of thousands on the HDD) and tweaked them, it was really pleasure to see on display at full size. But not all photos are like that, a thousand various other ones aren't as good.. and some are really bad, I don't show them . I think that the benefit not posting immediately but posting later when we have a larger choice that allow to select the very best images.

soligor 350mm (9xxxxx serial, "chrome eared")

Soligor 350mm f5.6's come in tokina and tamron made incarnations as well but these 9xxxx serials with the "chrome ears" on the aperture ring are the most common. I acquired one of these about 3 years ago and wasn't impressed. However I have now picked up another one and this one is much better, very much in the right ballpark IQ-wise for one of these t-mount preset lenses.

These are my standard test pics of one of the castle turrets. Samsung NX20, f5.6, f8, f11.

However I would still rate the tamron made 350mm best. Between the tokina made 350mm and this one I think the tokina edges it on IQ but this one has the advantage re focusing closer. This lens might be a preferred choice over it's sibling the chrome eared 400mm f6.3, also because of its closer focusing capability - ~ 4m as opposed to 6m.

As always, a new series of beautifully detailed pictures, especially the one with the cricket in bird's beak (hope my English is correct). You make very good use of your K3 and FA*600.
