Tamron 60B

I just acquired , but have yet to receive it a very complete with case Tamron 60B. I do have a couple of questions about it that those who own , or have owned might be able to answer. There is no 112mm front filter with it, should I look for aTamron Sp like the one on e-bay or something more suited for digital? also It comes with a complete set of the 43mm drop in filters. From what I have been able to find out I do need to use the "clear' when using as it is part of the optical path. How do You insert them or is it pretty much self explanatory by flipping the lever down?
I have looked all over online and have seen any kind of owners manual for this lens. I have 4 other Adaptall lenses and have found manuals for 2 of those. I have started reading ,from the beginning this thread and not quite half-way finished. LOTS of beautiful images and info here Thanks to all

That's a nice 60B, mines a bit of a "beater".
The 43mm filter screws into a holder that fits in a slot. You can see the holder in your 2nd pic, it has tamron ∅43 on it. I don't really notice any difference with or without. One filter I have been meaning to try out more is a 43mm polariser.
The large bayonet hood is protection enough for the front in use. I don't have a front filter. If you really want one then yeah the best you can get, but at 112mm that will have an ouch price tag.

I have been looking at filter cost and some of the B&W UV filters are more than half the cost of the lens I did see one Tamron SP filter that looked like it might be from the era from when the lens was made. I just don't want to mess the lens up , being some what of a klutz? at times Thanks, Kenny. More reading and looking to do!

As already suggested, just leave the hood on. My 200/2.5 SMC has a nice small dent in the lip of the hood when it tipped forward on the tripod. But I can live with that.

Yesterday at Peck Lake
K-1 and DA*200 with the 1.4 TC. Since the images and to be heavily cropped the vignetting fo the 1.4 TC wasn't an issue.

No Raven, but I went for a walk on the trail anyway. There were a few shrroms near where the Raven was.

Halfway around I spotted this guy.

I know I could get a better, closer shot from the rock behind him, so I went back 100 meters. Looking the other way from the rock face.

OK dude, you are too close now.

I kept walking around the lake on the park trail, I got to the other side of the lake and guess who was there?

Dude, you're a friggin stalker, leave me alone already.

Here are 4 shots of a Boeing C-17 Globemaster, the first 2 were taken using a K-5/Sigma 300mm F2.8 EX DG handheld and uncropped.

These 2 shot were taken with My K-3ii/A*1200mm F8 ED[IF] on a Gitzo 5532LS again uncropped.

Haven't posted one of our Eastern Yellow Robins for nearly 6 months. So we're due! K-S2 + DA 55-300 PLM at 300mm.

Thanks Albert. Yes they are striking, aren't they? One of only two of our pigeon species that has a crest (the other is the Spinifex Pigeon).

The flying warehouse. We are under one of the approaches to the nearby military airfield (Westover). Some weekends they practice (I think) coming and going. Windows do rattle when they go over at much less than cruising altitude.
