what he said +1

My own studies on New Holland Honeyeaters actually shows that they prefer to be shot with Pentax KP and Sigma 150-500;
(posted previously, but in the interest of science ...)

Stunning set of images Daniel. They are all excellent but the herons seem to have a 3D quality.

We obviously need to keep the studies going. Nice shots Rod.

Thanks. I find that the 200-500 creates that “look” as long as there is some distance between the subject and the background. I find the rendering nice for a zoom lens.

Nice shots. Are the plants kangaroo paws? (For our non-Oz members, yes that really is the name of a group of plants).
Yes, Kangaroo Paw - photos taken in the gardens of a resort at Bunker Bay, Western Australia

I tried out a D850 with the new 500 f/5.6 at my local camera store the other day. What an amazing bit of kit that is. It just blew me away at how easy it would be to carry into the woods. Yikes!

Then I got the D FA 150-450. I just can't afford to switch.

Great pics BTW.

I am eyeing the 500 PF but will have to save for a long time.

Hi All, a first contribution to this group from me. I shoot with two qualifying lenses , the FA*300 f2.8 and the D-FA 150-450mm.
Attached shot is with the 150-450 and I used a KP body.
Do you have any pictures of your FA*300mm F2.8 that you can post. I would like to change my Sigma 300mm f2.8 EX DG and get one instead.

Nice shooting - I have not had a chance to try my Eckla - a combination of bad weather and my wife taking a bad fall.

My wife had a bad fall two weeks ago. My sympathy goes out to you.
