Another outstanding series. Well done.

Very Nice ! Were all of these with the 55-300 PLM ? If so , Im pulling out all stops and getting one for my travel kit.
Thanks Ronald. Yes they were all taken with the PLM. It's a well-corrected lens and the HD coatings make a difference (compared to my old DA-L 55-300 f4-5.8 for example). It's only f6.3 at 300mm, but if you back off to about 270mm the maximum aperture is f5.6 and the resolution is noticeably better (pixel peep images at 300mm and you'll see the limitations). Its real party trick is the very fast and quiet AF. It folds up to a compact size and it's light-weight, so I tend to take it everywhere. Resolution at the wider end is excellent, bokeh and rendering are pleasant, MFD less than a metre. There is much to like about it. It's not a replacement for a premium tele lens but it complements such a lens very well. But ... it won't work with the K-5 series or older models, so no go with your K-r.

Looks as though that humming bird has been visited by the sandman.

Wow ! Thanks for the detailed reply. Ive been looking hard at this lens for a while and its now on the "list" !
The K-r is a passing fancy , but I do have a K-1 and two KP's to play with so no problem there......Thanks !

A few from the last few weeks.

Brant

Wilson Snipe

Black Bellied Plover

Lesser Yellowleg with fish; having a hard time swallowing it. Didn't know they eat fish.

White Crown Sparrow

Cape May Warbler?

Red Tail Hawk. Must just had a big meal.

I think this is a Gabar Goshawk, Some of the small African raptors are difficult to distinguish, at least for me.

I definitely have to get out and do some shooting sometime soon. I'm slacking off.
Inspirational stuff everyone.

After 4 months of drought [with temps over 100 for 2 months], then 3 weeks of rain [I recorded 14.5 inches in my rain gauge during those 3 weeks], the deer are finally out where I can capture them with my SMC A ☆ 400 F2.8 ED[IF]. This shot was taken about 30 minutes ago....

That's some beak on a little KF! Lovely shots Luis.

Some water birds. K-S2 + DA 55-300 PLM at 300mm.

Chestnut Teal
Pacific Black Ducks
Purple Swamphen
Thanks Des!

Great to meet the Dark-sided FC again during the migratory season over here. Used to shot more on the Asian-brown FC as compare to the dark-sided until last year where it started to stopped over. Taking with my K70+DA*300 and HD DA1.4 TC.
