S/he doesn't seem amused to have someone aim that black and glass thing at him/her. Clean and crisp image you have created there.

Stupendous series Heinrich.
That last bird is really giving you the eye.

Thank you kindly, that bird was at minimum focus distance, from inside through double pane windows.

Heinrich is a tough act to follow, impossible for me. I'll take the plunge anyway with this southern masked weaver, Pana_Leica 100~400mm @ 400mm, (= 800mm FF equivalent & cropped as well) on Pana GX8

Thank you and thanks for posting that image, I had never seen a southern masked weaver.

She's been a rather skittish and easily disturbed bird since she was first in her exhibit a few years ago.

Are you using tripod or hand held? Possible to increase the shutter speed to get rid of any interference that resulting the IQ? I'm using TAV most of the time with shutter speed either at 250 or 320s. Aperture from 5.6 to 7.1 with ISO 1600 or 3200 on my K70.

I just got this Chinese Sparrowhawk on the afternoon, didn't manage to get a clear shots on last year. The distance is about 25-30m away, results are pretty fine and acceptable to me..

The Sparrowhawk shots definitely look good to me.

I mainly handheld my camera. Shutter would be 1/400 or faster. Are your shots with tripod?

I had some sun today. I had to shovel like mad to get the driveway done so I'd have some time for shooting. Unfortunately that meant the main population was chickadees. It looks like my six all had young that re hanging around. It's a ridiculous number att he moment.

The close ups are the K-3 with the Tamron 300 2.8 and F 1.7x AF adapter;
The wider angle shots with more context are the K-1 with the DA*2-00* and HD DA 1.4 TC.

I have no idea why this guy is here, but he/she is here every day.

Lets see if we can compete with Owls.

In two of the Tawny Frogmouth nests, the chicks had their head up:

A departure today, because I don't have a 150-450 I have to decide in advance what I'm shooting with. I knew I had a chance at some Pine Grosbeaks and we have a Robin still with us despite the unusual cold, so I took out the DA* 60-250 with the HD DA 1.4 TC on it.

K-3 and DA* 60-250 @350mm ƒ5.6
ISO 400, ƒ5.6, AV mode

Today's cream of the crop.

Pine Grosbeaks
