Ok, this happened too far away for the K3, DA*300, Tamron-F 1.4 TC combo but it was a bit mind boggling.

A Seagull attacking a Raptor (Swamp Harrier). 100% crops.

I don't imagine that the Seagull was nesting nearby, maybe the Harrier had a bucket of chips (french fries)?

Beautiful site. They had just jumped up.
I've seen similar images numerous times, but it is still eye-popping. Great capture.

Your gull looks smaller than the harrier - maybe it was protecting chicks? This is a large, predatory Great Black-backed Gull going after a Long-tailed Duck, which winters here on Lake Ontario. Same equipment as yours but with the Pentax 1.4 x TC. Again, too far away for a great shot, but still dramatic.

Great Egret in breeding plumage. A large crop.
K-3 II, DFA 150-450 handheld. See exif for shot details.

Cheers,
Terry

Such a beautiful and unusual looking bird. Good catch.

I finally catched up with the Pine Grosbeaks.

I have not came across the strikingly red male yet like Norm did. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day.
