Yes, that Beluga transporter is indeed a monster. Based on the old A300 airframe, it’s set to be replaced by the new XL version based on the A330 in 2020.

15 mins drilling and tapping the hole, i deliberately made the thread tight so it stays on.
Interesting, just wondering how you will fix your strap on it, and how will you carry it better than the regular strap on the camera body...

Howlin Wolves / Loups qui hurlent [Canis lupus]
Omega Park, Montebello, Quebec, CANADA
2018.12.17
(VIDEO--> click on image to play the video on flickr)
=============================
This is the wolf pack that consist of a group of 10 Gray Wolves. They are part of the “Surrounded by wolves!”** activity à Omega Park, which is the only accommodation in North America which allows you to spend the night surrounded by a pack of wolves. You can experience all of this from the comfort of your cabin, for a once in a lifetime experience!

The first time we heard them howling, it was the night before at around 4-5 AM. Yellings awaken us all because it was so loud, even behind that thick bay window. This was so impressive that it gave us goose bumps! I wouldn’t like to hear something like that while being in a small tent in the woods…

I was taking some shots of the wolves when they started getting excited and yelling. I switched to video mode and captured the last minute of the ceremony.

The wolf that was howling, I think it’s the juvenile one (wolf cub). You can also see the “Alpha” male appearing at around 40 s. when he crosses a wooden gate. We can recognize him by it’s whiteish back and feet, thus its nickname “Pattes blanches” (White feet).
This experience will remain in our memories forever!

P.s. the word "Omega" also means the ranking of subordinates in the wolf pack, where the omega male is one of the most submissive individual and often being harassed by the other members of the pack.

Nice image. Should be in the Bokeh Club as good bokeh from long telephoto lenses is very hard to capture.

Last Night’s Moon....and then again this morning!

Night moon shot ASPC. Morning moon, FF. M*300mm/K1

I used the “Split Tone” feature in Lightroom. Not sure I know how to use that feature effectively yet....

(The first shot is Morning Moon)

Agreed. We have dark-eyed juncos but they come in different colour forms and ours are not as colourful as yours - more grey and white. Ours don't seem to be as cooperative - they usually flush just before you think you are close enough for a shot!

There are often more Grey and more Brownish ones in the same flock around here. It might be a factor of age.
