Went out for my first feeder shoot of the new year. I decided to take the DA*200 and the F 1.7 AF adapter. Not the easiest way to shoot buy, it was cold, the birds were hungry and they let me get close. I didn't set up the blind, I just took out a monopod and shot standing up near the feeders.

K-1 DA*200 2.8 and F 1.7 AF adapter (340mm ƒ 4.5)

ISO 400, ƒ5/6 or ƒ8, AV mode

A couple of female Pine Grosbeaks, more skittish than the other birds so further away.

Downey woodpecker female.

Hairy woodpecker.

D500 - 300mm f/4

D500 - 500mm f/4 American Robin

D500 - 500mm f/4 - White Breasted Nuthatch

I concede defeat to Norm's and Zzeitg's Nuthatch captures. The White Breasted Nuthatch images were salvaged in post-processing.

Drove about an hour south and had a late start to the morning at a new refuge. Majority of the images were extremely backlit and with harsh lighting, but did not want to leave empty handed.

Captures from the weekend. It was really cold and Sunday was cloudy but some of the pictures turned out pretty good.

Rose breasted grosbeak. Should have gone south but it managed to survived so far with the extreme cold temperatures.

I just saw a female Rose breasted through the Binoculars out at my feeder, it does seem bit cold for them (-23ºC)

Nice shot. It looks a bit over sharpened to my eyes, but that might be PF resizing your image.

Thanks Albert. Flickr does oversharpen too, and maybe I was a little heavy-handed in processing in DxO.
