Nice shooting, but they are a bit dark when posted. About 1 stop.

Thank you for the kind comment and a heads up. Are all my posts too dark or just this series? Thanks in advance

What are those neat looking little bugs? I've never seen any before. They look like little pieces from plastic toys!

Nice shooting!
Thanks!

Quote I went through something similar a while ago. Everything I posted was dark. Turned out to be just a bad habit. When I looked at my PP software, everything was dark there too. I just fell in love with dark for some reason.

@zzeitg, how do you like the 150-450 as compared to the 560? Do you find the images as good? Handling must surely be easier. I find I’m partial to the flexibility of the zooms but don’t want to give up the image quality. Your thoughts?

Hi Kath, the truth is that my DA560 is glued to K-3 and so far I've only used 150-450 as combo with K-1. And surely this would not be any fair comparison (as K-1 is too slow and in crop mode the resolution is worse).

Anyway I use 150-450 as 450mm prime most of the time. Handling is easier, but the reach is not there.

My impression (possibly affected by the above mentioned consequences) is that DA560 provides better IQ. But I wait for the K-3's successor and by that time I'm not able to make any real confrontation of both lenses and provide final verdict.

DFA 150-450 (all of them cropped)

Vader got to you too? May the force be with you Shots were taken in grey morning light and I was noticing a lot of noise / lack of detail in my recent shots, so I tried to avoid it by going dark.(excuses )

Lovely images. I’ll look forward to your comparison down the road. In the meantime, the zoom is tempting me because of the numerous times I needed to back up and couldn’t. I’ve taken to shooting from the van at our wildlife refuges because you’re prohibited from exiting the car and, frankly, it really can’t be beat for weathering the weather and so much easier on the back. Also, the birds seem very used to the cars. I’d love to have the 150-450 on one side and the 560 on the other. Now, if I could just get my trusted companion to wear camo and hide her scent, I might increase my capture rate!

She's wearing hook-fabric and the dock has a hidden (by her) patch of loop fabric? Maybe she gets a better grip with her toes than it appears.

Hahaha! She likes to lie down, is very patient, doesn’t require conversation, and doesn’t seem to want to chase the ducks, so she’s a great little photography buddy to have.
