I’ll take your word for that and it is to bad. There was a time when (if memory serves me correctly), Pentax had the best product support rated by JD Power.
You guys do understand that this is an image thread, where we post our images and discus how we got them don't you? I'm pretty sure customer support is not covered under "discus your long lenses." This thread didn't get to 47,000 likes and the second most popular thread on the forum discussing customer support. Start your own threads, elsewhere. This one is successful because it doesn't get into that crap. As a rule, we accept images from other brands, discourage archived images, and try and make this a place for people shooting and posting images in the present. You need to read the rules on the way in the door, even if they aren't posted anywhere.

This is not the "rest on your laurels, look at the great shots I took in the past" thread, nor is it the " let's discus my brand preferences and opinions" thread. This is the "what images have you taken lately? show and tell" thread.

Yeah, well, if my experience is any guide, Ricoh has no customer support at all. The people at Precision are very nice folks but have to call Ricoh for permission to do anything for a customer.
I probably missed something, did you obtain a different copy of the 150-450?

Some images were taken with 6D and Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary or with Canon 100-400mmL. I hope they look ok because I don't know how the program that I used to upload the images is affecting the quality.

Some images taken with 5D Mark IV and 300mm f2.8L + 2x TC or with Tamron 150-600mm (some of them are at high ISO).

I almost inserted a parenthetic "(?muskrat looks too small for a beaver)." Should not second guess myself, except when I'm right in the first place which does happen now and then.

An early start yesterday 05:45 and 7 hours of driving in total got me these. I'm feeling a bit knackered today.

K-3ii/FA*600mm F4 ED [IF]/ Eckla window mount.

Somedays, you go out for images of Beavers and Otters and all you get is the images you take waiting for them to turn up....

You'd swear it was duck dam, not a beaver dam.

There are always squirrels.

And my constant nuthatches and chickadees. I got these images with the K-3 and 55-300, trying to show a couple at the Cameron Road parking lot how much better you can do with portable lightweight lens then the 500-600mm glass they were using , in terms of getting the background etc., however, they remained fixed to their tripods in the middle fo the parking lot. It's fine buying expensive long glass, being committed to it's use when inappropriate, not so much. My images were taken buy ducking and dodging to avoid tree branches in the way. They kept complaining about the branches.

K-1 with Tamron 300 2.8 and Tamron 2x TC. Using that combo, I try and always use the 2 second timer (meaning I have to anticipate where the ducks will be in 2 seconds.). The camera reads 300mm instead of 600mm, and ƒ4 instead of ƒ8 and you can't depend on the SR. Considering it's a 2x TC the images are pretty good with the K-1. But that's it's limit, with the K-3's smaller pixels, I suspect resolution starts to suffer. But that being said, I bought it for use on the K-1 so I'm not at all disappointed.
And a pair of hooded mergansers out in Costello Creek. There is a place for long lenses, just perhaps not with birds as friendly as Nuthatches and Chickadees.

re: the 2 second delay: I wonder whether you might get the same results by telling the camera to use the mirror-up "electronic shutter" mode with a hand-held "bulb" release. Only disadvantage I can see is losing the viewfinder.

I can't see where the ducks are in the frame when the shutter goes either way.

For some reason PF's firewall has been locking me out for a few days. Back in now.
About time I posted a pic or two with my new 300mm 2.8 (see here). Not bad considering almost 1:1 crop. k3, f5.6, with sigma apo 1.4x tc.
