I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the Olympus 4/3,1.4x TC and Zuiko 300/4 outfit. It has its limitations--demands more light than the K-3 and I can't crop as heavily but it sure is easy to carry--and hand-hold.

That's a nice catch! I rarely ever get a decent shot of a pileated woodpecker.

Watching each other. First real KP/A400 use of the season. It's going to take a while to stabilize old aged hands with the KP and the large black log on the end.

Everyone posting on this thread has a least a 300mm lens, but I'll note that moments ago I came across a 250~600mm on EBAY, Japanese seller, about $4700.

A male Anna's hummingbird and a roadrunner from this weekend. Roadrunner was sunning itself on a rock for a long time - maybe a nest nearby?

Shot with my "new" 55-300 PLM. A definite upgrade for me over my older 55-300 WR, which I accidentally scratched very badly when I tripped on some red rocks...

BTW, I kept getting a "site not found" message on my home browser for Pentax Forums when trying to upload these (using both Firefox and Edge). I think one problem was an apostrophe in the file name. But now I can't even get to the site. Anyone know how to fix that?

Mixed group of migratory aquatics on the Cairns foreshore. This is a Ramsar declared habitat for migratory birds on the Australasian flyway. Five or six species in this one photo the biggest being the Eastern Curlew which is the largest of the migratory birds to visit. Siberia to NZ round trip each year. This is just a refuel stop for a few days.

Two from today, rain clouds were forming and that was bringing out the insects and the bird in the top picture feeds in the air and the bottom one is a ground feeder. K3 DA55-300. The water resistance was useful when the rain set in for 30mins.

Dollar Bird (Eurystomus orientalis) named for pale blue patches on wings visible in flight.

The Blue Winged Kookaburra (Dacelo leachii) with a greater percentage of blue markings and coarser voice than the Laughing Kookaburra

And you do them well, too.
