A nice mix. What were you trying to get the K-1 to do?

This is with the K-3 II + Tamron 300/2.8 (360B) + 1.7x AFA, cropped away 75% of the frame. Lens was @ f/5.6.
Excellent shot of the hawk.

The little birds move very quickly, out of a burst of 10 it's rare I get more than one or two with the pose I want, and often the pose that I pulled the trigger for has changed before my shutter actuates. So bottom line, the K-3 at 8 fps runs for 3 seconds. The K-1 at 4.6 fps for 1.5. The chances of pulling an image from a burst is cut in half. Meaning you probably want to shoot twice as long. It just seems really slow. Pretty much the same number of keepers, with quite a few less birds to choose from in half the time.

A snap from our crazy cold-spell a couple months back. Our two resident Anna's stayed close to the house and this one enjoyed the sun, what little warmth it gave, between heated feeder trips on this particular morning. K-3 | DA*300

Busy background in this photo, but first time I've ever shot a red crossbill that wasn't in the top of a tree.

went to my first Wings and Wetlands Festival in Great Bend Kansas over the week end

Wings & Wetlands Birding Festival – Kansas Wetlands Education Center

really put the DFA 150-450mm to work

and except for predictable OP error at times, no problems

The first and third images are especially worthy.

That's a fine capture of a spectacular NA bird. Too bad you didn't have time to put on a fence-post filter.

The color of the bird makes it stand out just enough.
